Alpha Industries and Alanui come together to deliver a reinterpretation of the MA-1 bomber jacket. This collaboration merges Alpha Industries’ legacy of technical precision and military expertise with Alanui’s dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail, resulting in a jacket that bridges tradition and modernity.
Alanui, which means “large path” in Hawaiian language, is the result of accurate research and a dialogue between the siblings Carlotta and Nicolò Oddi, about journey, one of the fueling principles of the brand. Born as a collection focused on single item, an oversized cashmere jacquard cardigan, produced in a variety of patterns and colors, the brand has now evolved in a total look, developing complete womenswear and menswear collections, including homeware. Each Alanui item is meant to be the perfect travel companion with an honest emotional connection to the owner, strengthened by the accumulation of feelings and experiences over the course of life.
The Alpha Industries x Alanui MA-1 bombershowcases the strengths of both brands, featuring:
- Graphics inspired by Alanui’s Icon cardigan on the hem and cuffs, nodding to Alanui’s roots in bold design.
- Premium finishes, including a leather zipper pull and ribbed cuffs for a clean and precise fit.
- Reversible construction with a utilitarian outer layer in rep. blue or sage green, complemented by
a vivid bandana patchwork lining, echoing Alanui’s signature patterns.
- Laser-cut nylon fringes on the back and sleeves, blending technical detailing with advanced aesthetics.
- Alpha’s signature utility pocket, enhanced by a beaded Alanui tag and the "Remove Before Flight" tag.
The collaboration honors the origins of the MA-1, first developed in 1949 for U.S. Air Force pilots, while incorporating Alanui’s contemporary design philosophy. The result is a statement piece that embodies both military heritage and artistic expression, designed for the modern individual.
