ALPHA x DR. MARTENS Collection

OWN YOUR MOMENT: DR. MARTENS AND ALPHA INDUSTRIES REVISIT THEIR ORIGINS WITH A ULTITY-INSPIRED COLLECTION

Born in the same era. Foundations rooted in workwear. From the first 1460 boot to leave the Dr Martens production line to the original Alpha Industries MA-1 flight jacket, the 60s were just the beginning of our two brands' journey.

The collaboration is brought to life through a campaign video featuring Lloyd Clipston, drummer of the eclectic London alternative band Powerplant, known for their distinctive, genre-defying sound. You can watch the video here.

The Dr Martens cult classics were made famous by the people who wore them. From the worker to the subculture. From the factory to the pavement. From the flight deck to the festival. And to the next. Each transition brings with it an unexpected story. A different interpretation. And a new meaning. Dr Martens will never forget where they started.

Without the people they serve, Dr Martens wouldn't be where they are. So when Dr Martens and Alpha Industries created new designs, they dug into their shared history to create a collection that celebrates the hard-working spirit both brands are known for - and the wearers who made them who they are. A reminder to stay authentic. And to enjoy your moment.

The models from the joint collaboration are once again made to last. With high-quality craftsmanship. Longevity. And functionality that runs through every single seam. The Tarik boot has been redesigned in smooth leather and nylon with an additional pocket at the ankle. Red and black laces. A detachable Alpha Industries pull tab - a feature taken directly from the MA-1. And the recognisable yellow stitching from Dr. Martens.

The 1460 Ben Boot also gets a modern workwear upgrade: with smooth leather and nylon in the upper. And the same additional elements as the Tarik. We've created a boot that's ready for anything. As unmistakably DM's as Alpha Industries.

Next, the Docs attitude is brought into a practical form with the Alpha rucksack. Functional from zip to strap, with additional pockets. A hardwearing mix of smooth leather, Kiev leather and nylon. And the same Alpha Industries pull tab.

Dr Martens x Alpha Industries will be available from 09.11.23 at alphaindustries.eu, drmartens.com and selected partners.

ABOUT DR. MARTENS

The first pair of Dr. Martens boots rolled off the production line on the 1st April 1960. With its trademark yellow stitch, grooved sole and heel-loop, it was a boot for workers, initially worn by postmen and policemen; comfortable, durable and lightweight in comparison to its competitors at the time.

Throughout Dr. Martens history, the brand has been adopted and subverted by diverse individuals, musicians, youth cultures and tribes. These are the people who stand out from the crowd and their journey of self-expressions has always been accompanied by a pair of DM’s boots or shoes.

The simple silhouette allows people to customise each pair; whilst on a utilitarian level their famous durability and comfort make them ideal footwear for the world of gigs and street fashion. On an emotional level, they are a flag of attitude and empowerment.

The Northamptonshire factory where it all began still exists to this day, in the village of Wollaston. A specific range of "Made in England" products are manufactured here by a small, close-knit team of people schooled in traditional shoe-making and a process that hasn't changed since our first pair six decades ago.
