X-girl x Alpha Industries:
Military goes Y2K
Alpha Industries and X-girl's partnership makes worlds collide: Alpha’s heritage N-2B jacket gets a full Y2K-makeover with a relaxed fit and shorter length. Featuring a removable faux fur hood with eye-catching, vibrant colors, the design merges Alpha’s functional roots with X-girl’s playful streetwear edge. Brand names from both labels appear on the sleeve, accented by a signature ribbon detail.
About X-girl: A legacy of women’s streetwear innovation
Founded in 1994 by Kim Gordon of New York rockband Sonic Youth and stylist and 80s it girl Daisy von Furth, X-girl made its mark by designing "real clothing"—pieces that embodied what they wanted to wear. Blending graphic design with influences from art, music, and street culture, X-girl quickly became a pioneer in the “Girl’s Movement” within fashion.
From its origins in Los Angeles to its first guerilla-style fashion show in Soho, New York—produced by Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze—X-girl has always been at the forefront of defining streetwear for women, featuring models like Chloe Sevigny and Michelle Rockwood who embodied the brand's fearless, independent style.
Over the years, and also after the brand was sold to the Japanese company B's International in 1998, X-girl has stayed true to its roots, offering "Real Girl’s Clothing" that blends basic style with influences from rock, military, outdoor, and sports culture. The collaboration with Alpha Industries channels this legacy, uniting Alpha’s utilitarian design ethos with X-girl’s distinctive approach to urban fashion.
